Exploring New Options in Business Financing

“Break the Tradition to Grow Your Business” was the title of ASPRI’s final seminar for the year 2019. Held on 18 October 2019 with the support of the Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) and Validus Capital, the seminar could not have been timelier as members had to start planning their finances for the coming year.

The seminar introduced attendees to new ways of business financing which they could explore.  Mr Kan Kok Heng, Specialist CFO from RVP Capital, Mr Anand Periwal, Head of Partnerships of Validus Capital, and Ms Ginnie Chin, CEO of Culum Capital shared with members how business financing had evolved for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and the new options available. Among them is Supply Chain Finance, a set of tech-based business and financing processes designed to lower costs and improve efficiency for the parties involved in a transaction. As Mr Kan told his audience, “There is no secret to success, only a system to success.”

The seminar rounded off with Mr Dennis Kuah, Deputy Director, Financing Ecosystem Division from Enterprise Singapore (ESG) who spoke about the Enterprise Financing Scheme, which ESG launched on 29 October with the aim of keeping the process scheme application simple.
