[Follow Up] Pre-Departure Testing Pilot Run For Process Industry Migrant Workers

28 May 2021

Ref No: 280521 (4)
UEN: S97SS0046G

This is a follow-up to our earlier survey titled ‘Pre-Departure Testing Pilot Run for Process Industry Migrant Workers’.

With inputs received, ASPRI is now engaged with a global healthcare provider to establish a pilot program to bring in migrant workers from Chennai, India or Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Positive outcomes of this pilot program will enable the authorities to gain confidence in the in-country protocols, thereby allowing more entry approvals into Singapore via the same pathway. It is also envisaged that the successful pilot program can pave way for reduced duration of quarantine in Singapore, in the near future.

For the relevant Ministries (MOM/MOH) to evaluate this pilot program, a stringent in-country 14-day quarantine regime along with a series of accredited testing processes and bubble-wrapping protocols have been proposed*.

Due to escalated COVID situation in the source countries, the estimated fee structure has been updated below.

Estimated Fee (per worker) of Pilot Program

 Note:

  • Estimated fee includes airfare to Singapore (*more details will be shared with interested member)
  • Fee EXCLUDES the cost of 21-day quarantine in Singapore

Estimated Timeline
Members can expect workers to arrive in Singapore tentatively in Mid-July. However, this estimate is subject to approval from authorities.

With the updated details, interested members should complete this survey for ASPRI to ascertain the demand and take the discussion forward.

Your timely response by 4 June (Friday), 12:00PM is crucial as numbers are limited in the pilot phase.

Please contact Mr Kenneth Lee (6560 5051), should you have any queries.

Disclaimer:

  1. The pilot program is subject to subject to prevailing regulations of Singapore and the source country.
  2. Due to the volatile situation, there may be further changes to the proposal / fee / timelines.

Our Warmest Regards,
