This circular is a follow-up to the one we sent on 26 July 2021 [Ref No.: 260721 (1)]

On 1 July 2021, many businesses and organisations rallied behind and commemorated SAF Day with their NSman employees, demonstrating their appreciation of our NSmen’s contributions to the defence of our nation.

This quarter’s eNewsletter attached collates the laudable efforts undertaken by employers and businesses to commemorate this special day with their NSman employees.  Together with our NSmen, the Association salutes and thanks you for the continuous support that you have shown them, allowing them to fulfil their commitments to the nation with peace of mind.

We would also like to take this opportunity to update you on some of the latest happenings in MINDEF/SAF.

ICT and IPPT

On 23 Jul 2021, it was announced on MINDEF’s Facebook page (https://go.gov.sg/mindef-fb-23jul) that the SAF has deferred In-Camp Training (ICT) with the exception of those that are essential for operations which will continue.  The conduct of Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) and NS Fitness Improvement Training (FIT) at Fitness Conditioning Centres (FCCs), SAFRA gyms and public locations will also be suspended.  As employers, you may wish to encourage your NSman employees to keep fit in the interim with FIT@Home (www.ns.sg) which is conducted virtually and will remain available with additional booking slots.  These measures will remain in place until 18 August 2021.

SAF’s COVID-19 Response

The SAF remains vigilant and ready to defend Singapore’s peace and security.  The SAF will continue to monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation and review the measures in place to keep our serviceman safe.

You may also like to connect with likeminded employers and learn more about being an NS advocate via The NS Champions LinkedIn page at (https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-national-service-ns-champions). Do share on your good efforts on supporting NS or your NSmen employees and hashtag #SupportNS.

Finally, we would like to encourage you to share this email and the eNewsletter with your associates and partners to garner greater support for NS. They can find out more on how they support your NSman employees at https://go.gov.sg/employer-website and pledge their support for NS via the NS Mark Accreditation scheme at https://go.gov.sg/nsmark.
