30 Oct 2020
Earlier today, ASPRI organised a Zoom Webinar with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) on the topic of Staggered Rest Days. You may find the slides presented here.
Following the webinar, ASPRI would like to highlight the following to all members:
- Staggered Rest Day applies to ALL Work Permit Holders and S-Pass Holders in the Construction, Marine and Process Sectors
- For Process Maintenance activities, the workers can have Sunday as a rest day. To enable this, ASPRI will work closely with ESG/ EDB to provide an update on how Sunday can be assigned as the rest day while the system is being modified. We seek your kind patience on this matter.
- The initial deadline (31 October 2020) to assign a rest day for workers has been EXTENDED until further notice. ASPRI will work together with government agencies to provide and update on this. No further action is required from employers as of now. Rest assured, AccessCode of workers WILL NOT turn red due to this in the meantime.
- Please find below a summary of Staggered Rest Day arrangement for the various work activities:
|Type of Work Activity||Staggered rest day arrangement for Process Industry||Remarks|
|Process Maintenance||Process maintenance workers can have Sunday as rest day.||The current Safe@work does not allow selection for Sunday.|
