The Workplace Safety and Health (Approved Codes of Practice) Notification 2016 was published on the Government Electronic Gazette on the 11th November 2016. This new Notification will be effective from 21 November 2016 and the Workplace Safety and Health (Approved Codes of Practice) Notification 2015 will be revoked accordingly.
The number of Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) will stand at 71.
The new additions are:
• SS 607:2015 Specification for design of active fall-protection system
• SS 343:2014 Specification for lifting gear – Part 1: Wire rope slings
• SS 343:2014 Specification for lifting gear – Part 2: Hooks
• SS 343:2014 Specification for lifting gear – Part 3: Shackles
The following ACOPs are updated to their last revision:
• SS 532:2016 Code of Practice for the storage of flammable liquids
• SS 553:2016 Code of Practice for air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation in buildings
• SS 554:2016 Code of Practice for indoor air quality for air-conditioned buildings
