Workplace Safety and Health (Approved Codes of Practice) Notification 2019 // Industry Workshops
The Workplace Safety and Health (Approved Codes of Practice) Notification 2019 was published in the Government Electronic Gazette on 6 December 2019. This new Notification will be effective from 16 December 2019 and the Workplace Safety and Health (Approved Codes of Practice) Notification 2018 will be revoked accordingly.
The number of Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) will stand at 81.
The new additions are:
- SS 639: 2018 Code of practice for the filling, inspection, testing and maintenance of gas cylinders for the storage and transport of compressed gases
- Part 1: Seamless steel and aluminium alloy cylinders (excluding dissolved acetylene) – inspection at time of filling, periodic maintenance and testing
- Part 2: Acetylene cylinders – filling conditions and filling inspection
- Part 3: Acetylene cylinders – periodic inspection and maintenance
- SS 642: 2019 Code of Practice for pneumatic waste conveyance system
- SS EN 13374: 2018 Temporary edge protection systems – Product specifications – Test methods
The following ACOPs are updated to their latest revision:
- SS 511: 2018 Code of Practice for diving at work
- SS 638: 2018 Code of Practice for electrical installations (Formerly CP 5)
- SS 650: 2019 Code of Practice for temporary electrical installations (Formerly CP 88)
- Part 1: Construction and building sites
- Part 2: Festive lighting, trade fairs, mini fairs and exhibition sites
