Dear Valued ASPRI Members,
High influx of Heavy Vehicles during peak hours at Checkpoint
JTC have noticed a surge in the number of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) clearing checkpoint during peak hours (6.30am to 8.30am) in the past 1 month. As a result, we are faced with heavy traffic at the checkpoint nearly every morning. We are currently investigating who are the HGV sponsors and will be contacting them soon to understand the cause of high traffic movements and whether they can adjust their delivery timings. We seek your assistance and inform your suppliers/sub-contractors to avoid goods delivery during morning peak (6.30am to 8.30am) as it will affect the other employees getting to work on time.
On JTC’s end, they have maintained the opening of all lanes/checking bays during peak hours, and have been diverting HGVs to PDL for clearances as measures to help ease the traffic. During off peak hours, they limit the closure of lane to only 1 at any point of time for the work activities to carry on. We seek your cooperation in disseminating the message to your staffs, supplier and contractors.
