We are pleased to announce the winners for this year’s WSH Innovation Awards. The judging session was held on 1 June 2021.
The WSH Innovation Awards is presented by the WSH Council and is supported by the Ministry of Manpower. It recognises organisations and individuals who have achieved excellence in workplace safety and health.
The winning companies have proven that despite the pandemic, they are still able to innovate and improve safety standards of our industry.
The winners are (segregated into 3 levels – Gold, Silver and Bronze):
Awarded Gold

Project Title: Smart Level Indicator
Project Summary: Sensors were installed inside the ISO tanks and LCD displays at the lower part of the ISO tanks for ease of reading and monitoring liquid level. This smart innovation eliminates the need of working at height.
Awarded Silver

Project Title: Acoustic Cover Improvement
Project Summary: Modify singular-piece acoustic cover of Hydraulic Power unit by compartmentalising into 5 easy-to-remove sections.

Project Title: Cylinder Wagon
Project Summary: Modified wagon that has a pulley system implemented to assist in transporting cylinders around the job site. This smart innovation is an ergonomic solution at reducing injuries by preventing workers from manually handling the cylinders.
Awarded Bronze

Project Title: On-line Inspection Robotics Including Cleaning
Project Summary: The inspection robotics including cleaning can de-sludge and inspect the internal tank floor utilising robotic technology and new design pumping, storage and filtration systems while the tank remains online and in-service.

Project Title: Remote Inspection for Column and other Confined Space
Project Summary: By using an Intrinsically Safe, Hands-free, Live Streaming Collaboration Tool, KES was able to remotely inspect and rectify any EHS or Technical issues inside a confined space together with their clients globally with just a click. All these without the need for KES personnel to be onsite or enter the confined space.
