What Business do I have in Sustainability?

12 January 2022, Wednesday – With Singapore progressively advancing the national agenda on sustainable development, ASPRI partnered with SME DXP Foundation Ltd, and Honeywell Pte Ltd to organise a webinar on this topic. It aimed to raise awareness on sustainability and covered its impact on the Process Industry.

Ms Ng Toon Lee, President of SME DXP Foundation Ltd, opened the webinar by giving an overview of the various Green House Gases (GHG) and how they contribute to the growing climate risks. Ms Ng revealed that GHG are a common result of businesses’ day-to-day operations. GHG derive from company facilities and vehicles, waste generated in operations, and processing of products.

Businesses with sustainable practices tend to see an increase in productivity. This is due to a rise in cost savings through operational and energy efficiencies. Such businesses will also continue to be relevant to customers who value sustainability. With over 90% of companies in the world now having Net Zero Targets, businesses in those countries will fare better if they have one too. Next, Mr Rajesh Murugan, Senior Offering Manager at Honeywell Pte Ltd, shared three cases studies, each featuring three different companies that used Honeywell Forge, a software for digital transformation. It is designed to help businesses operate more efficiently to reduce costs, and track and meet their sustainability goals.

Mr Alok Singh, Business Consultant Leader at Honeywell Pte ltd, then gave a demo of Honeywell Forge, showcasing its various features.
