| With the challenges of limited dormitories spaces and increased rental fees to keep up with the housing demands of workers, many companies are seeking alternative solutions such as converting factories into dormitories. Referring to the recent circular from URA regarding Temporary Revision to Guidelines for Temporary Workers’ Dormitories Within Industrial or Warehouse Developments, ASPRI understands that many Factory-Converted Dormitories (FCD)s are looking at intensifying their existing dorms and factories within the specified areas with extra spaces and are looking at running their own dorm to overcome the bed shortage issue. Dormitory Association of Singapore Ltd (DASL) is hosting an industry sharing session sharing details on practical considerations to intensifying dormitories, challenges and constraints faced and more.
