Protect Employees from the Effects of Haze // Industry Workshops
With the return of the haze in Singapore and the recent news1 of the PSI entering the unhealthy range, employers are reminded of their duty to protect their employees from the effects of the haze.
This will include the management of outdoor work to:
- Reduce, minimise and avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor work; and
- Implement risk mitigating measures, such as use of mechanical aids, job
- rotation, instituting indoor rest breaks, ensuring adequate hydration, etc, when the 24-hour PSI reaches Unhealthy levels.
Employers should also update their employees regularly on measures taken and obtain feedback of any adverse health effects their employees may have sustained as a result of the haze
